The last blog post

Hello class, this is my last blog post I will be writing. We are all finished with Eng 3. Mondays class I will be comming in for attendence and on Wednsday we have our final. Which is nothing to study for its things you already know from class. I have enjoyed this class, I would say it is my favorite, next to my  phych class. I have learned a lot in this class, from better computer skills to a better writing style. This Eng class mainly learned us how to  write to persaude an audience. Thank you Mr. Hamon for allowing us to ask questions and being such a great teacher.

Financial aid

Hello class, guess where I'm blogging from! You guessed it my phone again. I'm down stairs in the office waiting to meet with financial aid. Im trying to figure out a payment plan for school. I don't know if I should still continue with student loans or try to pay as I go. Because with  the intrest rates, I sort of feel like I'm throwing money away. The good news is there goung down. Our next semester its going to 3.6 for both, subsidized and unsubsidized loans.

Car trouble...again

Hello class, I missed class today becuse I had some car trouble. My battery died and I had to buy a new one. I could not believe it, car is not even that old. I talked to a classmate to find out all what I missed today. She said everyone was fixing doc 2 and doc 3. Im happy with my grade, I really did not think I was gona well on this last doc. It was a lot of information to cover. I was mainly worried about staying on topic. This is our last week of class , and i cant believe I just recently found out how to blog off my phone, I even have the blogger app now. Well IM getting back to studying for my last phych final for this thursday, see u all in class.

Phone blog

Hello class , I'm blogging from my phone for the first time, this is pretty cool. I should of tried this sooner. I have revised my doc 2 and now I'm just waiting on the feed back on doc3. Im heading out to dinner with my family at carrabas. since I don't have a lot going on now its easier for me to get out and do things without feeling like I'm slacking. When I get hime I plan to study for one last final for the semester.

The flipped class

Hello class, my thoughts on the flipped classroom are positive. It works well for me. I have always looked at the flipped classroom as it is not taking any thing away from learning, but instead only adding to it. I like that we have class time for questions and disscussions, but I can also go home and finish my work. Since its all done online I do dont need to bring in a paper, I just share it with the proffesor. If  for some reason I cant make it in to class, and miss a peer review, I can still be apart of the class through the web. The assesments and videos help me stay on track when Im home. So I always have somthing I can work on. 

Doc 3 is finished .... for now

Hello class, I'm officially finished with my doc 3 on marketing and advertising to children. I tried worked on it really hard because this is our final. I hope I will not need to revise it that much when I get it back. This doc took me a long time I'm not gonna lie. Thank you everyone for all the comments. I hope everyone also deleted their comments before the Mr. Haman grades tomorrow. Now that my paper is finished I think I will do some online shopping. Today is cyber Monday for internet shopping. I'm hoping to get some good deals for Christmas presents. I know that the shopping malls are going to be packed in a few short weeks. 

My weekend

Hello class, how was everyone's Thanks giving? mine was OK. I'm not a big fan of turkey but I did enjoy some of the other sides.Later that evening I went to the movies and saw the Hunger Games. It was strange and entertaining at the same time, but I don't believe it is suitable for small children. Oddly enough they are the biggest fans for this film. If some of you are fans, I know your going say this is crazy but, I think Hollywood is evil and this movie symbolizes child sacrifice! Moving on, I also tried to go black Friday shopping to get some deals but the lines were too long for me. I would walk in a  store and walk out. Finally I called  a friend and we went to eat P.F Chang's. All in all I had a great holiday/weekend. 

Finishing Doc 3

Today we are finishing our doc 3. The proffesor said since tommorows Thanksgiving no one will work on their papers at home. I plan on finding some time to work on mine. Im just about finished, I need a stronger conclusion though. The topic I chose was from a analysis point of view. Theres a lot too talk about I hope I chose the most important key points to cover. The main thing Im worried about is going off topic. Since there is so many things to talk about with this subject staying focused on the main point is hard to do. Im passionate about this topic because I love everything about phych. Im interesed in how the mind works, why we think the way we do, and how easy it is for us to be manipulated and brain washed. My reader is parents my my topic is based on children. Its not only children that can be manipulated by advertising, but adults too.

Hello class, well instead of blogging about how well doc 3 is going, this post is how well its not going. In my doc 3 I chose to write about marketing to children is bad because it is manipulative. I knew a little about the subject I also figured it would be an interesting topic to research.I also knew I would have plenty information to write on. Well this topic has too much information to sort out. Basically a lot of credibility is needed and going to take over my paper. I don't want that to happen, also because it will be a lot more then 1500 words.  Well I'm going to do the assessment then Im getting back to the paper. Good luck to everyone.

Doc 3 argument and answers .

My document is on advertising to children is it marketing or manipulation? If so is that still ethical?

Marketing to children is ethically wrong and manipulative.
  

• Because it causes childhood obesity.
• Because it promotes violence, and sexuality.
• Because it objectifies children.

My argument is on how large fortune 500 hundred companies are well aware of what works for marketing tactics. All marketing is manipulation, but when it comes to children they do not have the capacity to understand like adults. Parents should monitor and limit their children's television viewing habits. They should also explain how advertising works. This will teach children to think and react accordingly when they see an advertisement. Marketing to children has negative effects because it promotes childhood obesity,sex and violence and objectifies children.

Doc 3 in the process

Hello class, Im still working on my doc 3. My topic is on advertising to children, is it marketing or manipulation. Large companies do a lot to advertise there products and spend billions every year marketing to consumers, we already know that. When is comes to young children is this etchical or are they crossing the line. I have been researching this topic and finding that it is so much more just the obvious marketing stratiges with fast food and toys. The companies present ads to children constanly through mass media, which is tv ads, internet, bill boards. My paper is still in complete. I should have it finished by this weekend I hope.

 Should middle class Americans with health insurance support ACA? Yes middle class Americans should support ACA.
 Should

•  Because it widens health care coverage to all Americans.
•  Also, because it protects existing health insurance policy holders to to keep there  coverage, insurance companies will no longer be able to drop policy holders for any reason. 
•  Because it lowers the cost of high rising health care. By requiring everyone to get health care. 
•  Because the insurance companies will no longer be able to take advantage of their policy  holders by discriminating against people due to prexisting.

 

Doc 3 starts tonight

Hello class, OK it Saturday night and you guessed it Im home going to start doc 3 finally. I gave my self enough time to decide on a topic. Im really bad at making a final decision when I'm given too many options. Enough with all my excuses, doc 3 is on. I decided to write on how the entertainment industry has negative  effects on the average young American. Any thoughts ??? 

Friend Time

Hello class, Today was a good productive day for me. I got a few things done that I needed to do. I'm still trying to choose a topic for doc 3. I have a friend over so its hard to do home work and study with company over. I don't want to be rude, so I'm just blogging quickly and putting the computer away until later. I have a lot of family and friends who are snow birds. They come down to Florida in the winter time to get out of the snow. I will be getting a lot company in the next few months I'm sure.   

I need an idea for doc 3

Hello class, my mid terms are finished in all my other classes, and now its time to start writing doc 3. For this assignment we can write about anything and the first peer review is not due until Wednesday. The only problem is I do not know what to write about. We need to find a persuasive topic that were interest us and have some knowledge on. OK sounds easy enough, where it gets tricky is it should be something that others will not most likely agree with. It will take me a whole day just to decide on a topic.Hope you all have a nice weekend. 

Somthing Im passionate about

Hello class, one thing im passionate about is occupational thearpy. I think all the parts of the medical field are important. Occupational thearpy for short OTA, is an especially important field because it helps people get back on their feet in more ways then one. They help people get back to the way they was before an accident or illness by strength and muscle building. They also learn patients how to do things for them self again. Such as simple tasks like just getting out of bed in the morning and brusing your teeth. Or putting on socks or getting a glass cup from the cabinet. Things we take for granted evryday. I think they make a differnce in peoples lives and give them hope. It sounds stupid but its true. I had an OTA come to my when I hada bad car accident. She helped me so much . That is how I learned about  the OTA field. I cant wait to graduate from the program and one day be an OTA.

No gasolina

Hello class, I hope everyone is doing well on their doc 2. I finished my last night. I stayed up all night till 5:30 working on it. I tried not to leave anything out because the more that goes in then the more persuasive it is. So I know its not due until Monday, but I wanted to finish it by last night because there's a English tutor in the AIC room. I recently found out about the English composition tutor who basically looks at English papers and helps with grammar and editing and APA style. I'm sure you all already know about this by now. If you don't then go check it out. So I drove to class today to see her with my laptop, and well I never made it to the school. While driving there I ran out of gas. In the middle lane of  Okeechobee. That was a nightmare, I had no one to push my car out of the road. I really thought it was going to get wrecked. I'm always in a hurry, today I did not even notice I was on the e mark. By the time I to the school the English tutor was still there. I was happy about that, I waited for her to finish with another student. Once she finished though it was time for her to go. So after all that, still no tutor. I was bummed out, who wouldn't want a someone else who really knows there stuff on writing papers to look at there paper. I could always use the input and help. I really need / want a good grade on my doc 2 !

Obama cares, arent you glad.

Hello class, ok so with this paper I chose to be for Obama care. To be against it is a whole different ball game. Anything I do I don't like to do it half way. Its all or nothing. So if I would have chosen to write against Obama care it would be way over 1200 hundred words. Because there are to many cons about it. Way to many important details to cover. Plus I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist and I don't want that to come through in my paper. I would have based this act as unconstitutional and un American. What else do you call taking away freedom and rights to choose. Never has the government forced the American people to purchase something. I don't know anymore, what's next one euro, one religion. This whole act is built on the joining the younger people contributing to the health care pool, to compensate others who use health insurance. We all know that by now. Some of you may know how I feel about this act by now, but in my paper I have chosen to write for it just because there is way less areas to cover. Actually you really cant find anything that great about it. You can find a ton of  sources saying how bad it is for America! Well my paper is finished for now. I'm sure I will be revising and editing when I receive it back next week. I'm so glad  its finished because this was a difficult subject to write on. There is so many pros and cons involved. You just don't know what or who to believe. I guess we will wait and see soon enough. Because this is happening whether we like it or not, because Obama cares.

Tech problems for doc 2.

Hello class, I finally got started on my doc 2 yesterday. The creative writing was going well I even got my thesis statment down. About 2:00 am all of the sudden I got knocked off line and my computer screen had an error mesg saying this device cant be reconized. I tried to call comcast for tech support but they were closed of course. So today I need to call and see whats going on. My computer has been running really slow latly especially youtube. But ok back on doc2, I have decided to write my paper for supporting Obama care. Its easy to see what is bad about it ,but I have also found goodthings as well. Maybe the good will out way the bad and it could work out after all. This system does work for others around the country. The thing is we will all find out sooner then later. We will have to except it like it or not. Thats life try to roll with the punches and make the best of it. Whats that saying whene life hands you lemons you throw them at someone....just jokn. This has been by far the hardest doc I have ever created. I first needed to understand the bill somwhat, which took tons of rsearch and still counting. Then try to explain it from my point of veiw.

Everything

Hello class, I just finished my assessment for class. This one was a little harder then the usual. More  reading and writing and less multiple choice questions. Im glad that's off my head. Things have been so hectic now that were in week five of this semester. Im actually thinking about dropping my A/ P class, I will get a (W) which is for withdrawal. I have never dropped a class I feel like a failure . Its not that I cant pass the class, its Im only focused on that certain class because its sooo much. So Im lacking in my other classes. Whats the point if my over grade average is going lower and lower. I thing I bit off more then I can Handel. Still debating not sure if Im going to drop it or not if I do I can focus on my other classes and retake A/P the next semester. Its just going to set me back from graduating a bit. I read something recently that said '' don't try to rush your way out of school your there to learn, Its not a race''. So since A/P moves so fast no Im not really learning anything its more like memorizing quickly and moving on to the next chapter.

Doc 2 on Obama care still researching.

Hello class, Im still doing my research on Obama care. Not sure yet if  Im for it or against it. This has to be one of the most controversial issue out. Yes its a great thing everyone should have health care. Americans will be more healthier because even if you have a little cold you will not hesitate to go see the doctor. As before you would  first just try to fight it off with maybe an over the counter medicine and hope to get better. I know that's what I would do.With not even a simple copay this will not be an issue anymore. So in a sense it is good to be prepared  no one can predict if and when they will need medical attention. Also its not right that people with insurance pay for those who don't have insurance. The insured rates go up to compensate for those who cannot afford medical care. I don't have insurance, but I certainly don't expect someone else to pay for me. So I guess just like car insurance we hope we never need it but its there if we do. Its similar to  car insurance ,being that its mandatory. Thing is I knew before I bought my car I was going to need car insurance, so I had a choice. This law is basically saying you live in America you buy health insurance. This is the first time the government ever made the American people buy something. It does feel like freedom to me. Not to mention this will only raise the debt this country already owes.  I would like to agree with this act, but don't really know enough about it yet to say. I do know that this country is divided on this decision, but I guess it does not matter now , its the law. It has been repealed 41 times and its still in full effect.  If anyone reads my blogs comment me I would like the feedback and to hear others point of view. wow this was a long post, if your still  here reading this  thanks.

Birthday party

Hello class, I hope evryone had a nice weekend. I know I did. I went to a birthday this weekend  and got to see my family and freinds. I honestly did not want to go to take up time from my studying, but I went out of obligation. I had a nice time I didnt buy my freind anything because it was such short notice so I just gave him 20 dollars. Which isnt much, but he already know im broke. I stayed a short while had some cake and I left to go home and study. I wanted to stay longer but studying is way more inportant to me. It really dosent matter how much time I have though, because I can never get all of it done. The weekends need to be a little bit longer. If I had just one more day I would feel better. Or maybe one less class.

Doc 1 is finished.....for now

Hello class. Doc 1 is finished Hallelujah. Its ready to be submitted I'm so happy to get this paper off my head for a while. I can focus on my other classes like math and u guessed it, A/P. Which has taken over my life.Once doc 1 has been graded and returned back to me with a grade my the journey isn't over. I will then probably need to edit and revise. I want the best grade I can receive. This class inst like any other class I have seen. Usually once submitted that's it. he grades are in and no changes can be made , no exceptions. Not here this a LEARNING class, and that's what we do. By the end of doc 1 or doc 2 you will see the errors that was made and look back and see how much you have learned in English. I know I did in English 1. On my first doc 1 my group knew nothing about APA style citing credible sources none of that stuff. With some practice and and asking a lotttt of questions, I learned how to write document in APA style.Which is a real pain you know where.  If you don't know APA yet dont worry you will soon. And you can ask me in class.

Computer problems

Hello class, Im in the libary printing out some power point slides for my A/P class. I will be going home to study them soon. We just had our first test this week and it went well I guess. Its not just keping up in this class its staying ahead because it moves quick. I have so much work to do this has been by far my most hectic and busy semester yet. Alot of my work is done online and my computewr has been running so slow. Especialy for youtube clips.Which is what we view a lot of for our lessons posted by Mr. Hamon. Also my Proffesor Dr. Lockheart  in A/P uses the same idea. I just cleaned my computer and updated it so now it  should be running better. Im leaving the school to go over to a classmates house to work on some math. That will be my big adventure out tonight. I like hanging out and working with my classmates because we all have the same things in common. We all can relate to each other and help one another out. Thats all for now bye.

Its peer week for Doc1 !

Hello class, Its the begining of the third week of classe. For some of us that means exams. I have exams in all of my classes except in English. But even in English our doc 1 is due this week. First we will do a peer evaluation though before we send it in. I really like the peer evaluations. When I send my paper in whithout getting a few evaluations from other class mate my paper is sent back whit many errors. Thankfully the professor will count it as a draft and let us fix what ever needs to be edited. This class is a learning class, and thats what we do. You will not leave here at the end of the semester whitout learning a few things. For our doc1 the girls and I will need to work on our conclusion and get  a total of three APA refrences in our paper. Then whit a peer avaluation it will be ready to be submited.

Doc 1 in the making.

Hey class, hope everyone doing their papers. My group is working hard on making this paper a great one. Shout out to the girls Karmela and Bertide they got right to it. We need to move some things around and edit a ton Im sure, but the ground work is laid out. I want a strong to get a strong conclusion to persuade college professors that networking tools has proven to be useful whit in the classroom. Ya know what I really love about our classroom is the communication network. The other day Bertide added into our paper and she let us know on the side comment box. I checked it out ad let her know hey I like it,we also need a conclusion. I like working together, first of all its less stress then working alone. Also we have each others opinions and ideas. I like getting feed back on what I wrote, because I doubt myself all the time. So I know the girls aren't going to lie and say what ever i wrote was good if its not because their grades on the  line too!  

The beginning of the semester

Hello Class, I hope everyone is getting the hang of blogging. Its easier if we have a specif topic to write on. Like our papers or our current discussions in class. I'm at home studying  A/P , and oh ya did I mention its a Friday night. Social life is ( none ).  I guess that's how it goes for a lot of us students.I have a pot of coffee on and a ton of reading to do. I hope I do well in this class this semester. I'm a little worried, its the beginning of the semester and its already so chaotic . There are moments where I think  I'm not going to make it , and I cant do it. But there only moments and they pass ,I shrug it off and keep going. Pray for me lol. There isn't enough hours in the day, and sleep is getting in the way of  my studying. Currently  I'm taking 5 classes, and A/P is one of them. That alone is like 5 classes rolled into one. My professor, Dr Lockheart  also sorta uses the flipped classroom method. She learned from Dr Hamon. We learn in lecture but she also post videos and homework up on the student portal. The videos are great because I can see exactly what she wants us to focus on. So I use them as a guideline on what to read up on. I have so much homework to do, and I will do it because I want the points, but also it really does helps me learn. I cant answer a problem without knowing the material right, so that lets me know where my weak points are. As of now I have a lot of weak points. We are in the first 4 chapters and its a lot of biology, which I hate. Still dosent matter Its got to be learned well to understand anatomy and physiology. I must say I missed blogging a little bit. It reminds me of my last semester, which was a great one probably my favorite so far I hope its another good one. Im going to drink my coffee and get back to studying Biology/ See you all in class on Monday. Have a good weekend.

Blogging again

Im happy to be in this class again. I learned so many important things in Eng 1. I hope to learn better communicating skills in my writing, along with my APA style. The APA is important in a lot of classes. The program Im trying to get into is the OTA program. The OTA program specificaly requires this class. Because in ENG 3 we focuse on these skills. I was signed up for ENG 2 with proffesor Maybee. But then I talked to The Director of the  OTA ,program and he told me that ENG2 was not requierd, but instead to take ENG 3. They have worked with Mr. Hamon and prefer the students to know APA style writing.

The final chapter.

Im back in class blogging. I have so much on my mind. I cant believe I went during finals. I went to a wedding in maryland. I had fun but it was not worth the hassel and the stress that came along with it. I brang my books and specch on the plane to practice , but did not do it. Instead I went to sleep the whole way there and the whole time back. So now im going to be going crazy working on my projects. I should of brang my computer on the plane insted of my books. I had fun seeing all my family and freinds, but im not planning on going out of town again for a long time. Its difficult with school. We just got our grades for the doc 3 back and im happy with mine. The only thing left to do in this class now is fix doc 2 by this week,and take the final next week.

Last blog for the flipped classroom.

Well its 7:00 am on a Saturday and I'm writing my last blog.  My Thoughts on the flipped classroom are genuinely positive. I enjoyed this semester in English. I think I learned quite a bit. I learned a lot in Google docs, I love it. Its seems easier then Microsoft word.Even though I don't completely love computers I fell way more comfortable on them now. I also learned a lot of other great things like how to format a document APA style, which will come in handy. My experience in the flipped classroom was a good one. It seems to work out just fine for English. Would it for other classes, sure I dot see why not. I said it before and ill say it again. The flipped classroom dosent take any thing away from learning but can add to it. The online videos along with the assessment quiz's kept me on point through out the week. It would be nice if my math teacher offered the flipped classroom method also. Over all I found the flipped classroom to be a good learning experience. I am now getting ready to leave for the airport. I'm going on a trip to Maryland to visit family I will be back on Tuesday.  Right now I'm debating on taking my computer on the flight. Its gonna be heavy to carry around. I don't have any immediate work to be done , but there's always something that I can work on.  I'M also bringing my math book on the flight too. Because as soon as I get back from my trip there is a math test do yaye. I need a bigger purse for everything.

Hello class, HALLELUJAH we finished our doc 3 and sent them in for grading. Doc 3 was a good topic I think, but it was a lot to cover. I went through a lot to get the most credible source possible.The head  Professor of the criminal justice department would have been ideal to interview. Unfortunately He was unavailable. So instead the next best source to interview would be a police officer. That was sort of difficult to get also. I called the police station and no one was available to talk. I went in the next day, they weren't on duty yet. They don't come on at 5:00 I was told. Finally I did get in contact with an officer on the last day my paper was due. It was a real life miracle. I thought he was very nice to take time to answers to my questions. I had already wrote them down to save time. I already knew the answer,since I have been doing a ton of research on drinking and driving. But I needed the best credible source possible.So its all finished for now. I hope I get a good grade, I'm afraid to check the portal to see if  its up yet. I really don't like checking it for any class. In the mean time I'm working on my PowerPoint presentation for speech class. That's due this Thursday. So tonight I will be sitting in and working on that among other projects. I also want to fix doc 2 as much as I can. Maybe I can get a better grade on the  MOOCs paper. I was suppose to meet up with my friend and do homework after class tonight, but I got rain checked. Ironically it is raining outside. So its just me and my dog at home working on projects tonight,Yay.

Vacation time

I have been on the go all day. I got home late,and have so much to do still online.I don't have class on Fridays, so I always do my errands on that day. Today was a good productive day, I got a lot done. I been in the mall all day looking for a dress to where. I found a nice dress, but it was too long so then I had to go to the tailor to get it altered. I hope its ready in time. I Still need to get a few more things for my trip out of town. I'm going to a wedding in Maryland. I'm very excited to see all my family and friends. My dad will be there, and I haven't seen him In a few months. My mom and I are leaving on Saturday and returning on Tuesday. I'm still going to bring my books in a carry on bag on the plane. I'm really nervous about getting on the plane. Once we take off Ill be OK. I need to have all my home work done before I leave, so I can go with some peace of mind.

Doc 3,game on

 I have so many different things going on right now. Between writing doc 3, different classes and I'm getting ready to go out of town for the holiday. Doc 3 is coming together, I'm glad I pick this topic there's a lot of information to write about. So I definitely don't have writers block. Maybe even too much information if that's possible. I have heard, when picking a topic to write on you should pick a limited subject. I can see why that's true. My doc 3 is aimed at college student, why they should not drink an drive. I am going to take some stuff out tonight , because I have to much info and haven't got to my conclusion yet. I also just had a big math test tonight. I think it counted for 20 percent of my grade,I hope I did well. I just made coffee and I'm sitting in and finish doc 3. I also will be sharing my doc 3 with everyone soon. I have some of comments to do as well on everyone else doc 3. Game on.

Doc 3, new idea

I have been doing online research for my doc 3. It was originally a persuasive guide for a PTA major. Or something on those lines. I would be writing about going to school, and trying to secure a place in the PTA program. As there are only 70 spots available, what can help you get one of those spots. This is something I have first hand experience with, and can speak on from my own personal point of view. I could interview professor Peterson, I'm sure he would comply since its for an essay. The thing is, recently I have decided to change my subject for doc 3. I was watching the news last night, there was a story about how a young girl was killed in a drunk driving car accident. you may have seen it on the news recently. The whole family was in the car, when a drunk driver ran the red light and went threw the intersection and hit this family's car.While killing the young girl on impact,the rest of the family survived. Hes now facing up to 15 years in prison for man slaughter charges.Now the family is angry ,and who could blame them. They say, they want to forgive him ,but cant forget. This is a sad story, but true. This type of incidents happen all the time. Unnecessary deaths like this can be avoided. I want to write about raising awareness of the cause and affects of drunk driving for young adults. The young adults are a wide majority of people involved in drunk driving or alcohol related accidents. So now its Friday night and Im home working on doc3. Looks like I will be home all weekend, the first peer review is due Monday!!...

Doc 3, continued.

Tonight I'm home working on doc 3. The college guide as a PTA major. This will be good for me learn as well. Because I am new to college and have no prior knowledge about the PTA program. I know a few basic things, but I will need to do more research to even get started. The basic things I know are that only a select few will be accepted in to the PTA program. I believe its 70 people. And that's nothing really, because so many are here for PTA. Since only a few are accepted, there are a few things that will help me stand out.For instance, really good grades of course. Taking all the prerequisites at south university. Also getting the 40 hours of shadowing a PTA in a pt facility.And I also know I low the PTA field, and have major respect for it.I know it works for everyone.I know because I was in physical therapy for 2 long years. So I don't know a lot about it yet. I want to wright something pertains to school. And I want my audience to be the students. So I am choosing this topic to write about. I'm getting started tonight, its going to be a long weekend.A strong rough draft is due for the first peer evaluation in a short week, God help us all.

Doc 3

For doc 3, Im diong a persuasive essay. I think it might be a little easier then an informative essay. You can state your opinion in an argumental persuasive essays. your aloude to use wods like, I think so, or I believe. Still I dont want to sound redundent with the words. So ofcourse, I will be looking for credible resourses. The doc 3 may be fun, I will be writing a persuasive guide on getting thru college,as a pta major. I will be able to conduct in person interviews with some of the professors. Im looking forward to that part. Professor Peterson,is who I mainly want to interview. He is the instructor for the pta program. Although he is a very busy guy.I hope to get a short interview with him, he is really nice,I met him in orientation.And maybe even some students that are already in the program as well would be up for an interview.

A little bit of evrything

Well its Monday again, and you know what that means. I was super busy all day,since 7:00 AM I been running around with my mom doing all her little stops today. We went to a few furniture stores to look at new couchs. Then the bank,and the grocery store. I been getting up super early, and not being able to sleep. Im so tired right now I cant see straight. After I leave here I need to go home and work on my demonstration and outline on baking a cake for speech class. Im a little worried how this demonstration will turn out. I mean, I can mix a cake in a room full of people just fine. The thing that Im worried about is being able to demonstrait as well as speak from my outline.And not going over five miniutes is scary too. I got to practice when I get home, and time my self. By the way did I mention its due tomorrow.But ill be ok I have been practicing, a little.

My writers voice

I'm not sure what my writers voice is yet. But I would like to find out. I do believe that will take a lot of practice. Which is OK because I like to write. Am I any good, that's a different story. I understand that we do create a persona that works with our purpose of our writing. I like the persona triangle term. We do use all of these personas at different times. Depends on the purpose of the paper.And of course my audiencej . I think I try to use the stuffy voice persona. But I wonder if using that persona in writing will I complicate things,and confuse my audience. That's the last thing I want to do. But then again, the stuffy voice does mostly relate to academic writing.

The writers purpose.

If Im asked to volunteer for somthing, I always find out what it is first.And all what I need to do. If I want a free app ,or game I read the fine print and scan to see if its a contract or any charges. The samr thing with writing I want to know my purpose what Im writing about. We learned in the Colorado State University handbook to identify the purpose. Which means why am I writing this, and who is it for.Mostly at school its for proffesors. But thats not always the case. We may write an argumental paper to persuade someone to do something for us . For example a favorite tv show may be getting cancelled soon. And we want the executive producers to keep it on the air. What would motivate them to listen . Probably ratings , because ratings equal money .My point is its always good to know your audience, if you want the best response. Knowing the right form will help us in our writing.

Hectic Monday

Im back in school blogging. Its now 8:00, and its just a few of us in class tonight. I hope my group fronm doc 1 shows tonit. Because I really want to get our doc1 on flipping the classroom finished. That papers gota be due soon.I was up editing it all night. This has been a long weekend for me. Long days, and a lot of homework. Today was Monday, and Mondays are always hectic for me. I went to 3 different grocery stores today. First I was in walmart. That place is crazy hectic. So many people go thier for the same reason I do, for yje low prices. Then I went the publix , because they have better meats. As well as a few specialty items. The last store I was in was the health food store.They dont have one in wpb where I live. So I drove out to wellinton to get a few things I neede for my diet. Which is gong pretty well so far. I finished cleaning out my icebox and packing my groceries away and came to class

Tales from the MOOCs, And credible sources

Well I'm home on another Friday night,whats new. I'm trying to get caught up on my homework. I have been looking at all my fellow students essays on MOOCs. Everyone has a lot of great information. I need to comment on any grammar errors and thing like that. Its hard to say to each other if something don't sound right. I feel like I'm being rude. But really its only to help one another out. I really appreciate all the comments and help i have been getting. I like getting the other opinions from the other students. I had my mom look it over , but she thinks everything I do is great. So shes no help. I had a lot of revising to do, and still will continue to work on it . I have all my 1200 words but i need to move some sentences around . I really want it to turn out good. I learned from the professor to really check out my sources. They really need to be credibly right of the bat . Other wise if their not , the whole paper is practically shot. I mean I search on the net , but I know not to use wiki or things like that , I know also, ro not just use the first source I find. But looking for credible sources really goes further than just that. Its finding who actually said it , and where the information really came from in the FIRST place.So that what ill be working on wit my MOOCs paper . where, and was the sourses really credible.

my new diet

Today was a great day for me. I got a few things done that I need to do. Also, got to eat a nice small dinner at home with my family before class. My mom made burgers.I just had the meat without the bun. I have been on a crazy diet for the past two weeks now. Which basically consists of protein and the choices are still limited. The hardest part is the diet only allows 500 calories per day. A typical whole days meal is one fruit one vegetable and one protein.And 2 liters of water a day, or half my body weight.I wont disclose my body weight but lets just say its a lot of water.

So that's difficult to consume so much water. Especially considering I don't even like water. Also unlimited amounts of coffee. But no creamer or sugar. So that's out for me . I cant do coffee with out cream. I'm so sick of chicken, that I want to boycott it competently. This diet protocol is so strict. But the end result should pay off and be worth it in the end. so far I lots 6 lbs in two weeks,The end result should be 40 lbs in 40 days. To me that sounds impossible , but also great at the same time. Thats not including if I were to work out. The thing is I'm always hungry on it, and I been getting a lot of headaches. Tomorrow I'm going to the health food store to see if there's any alternatives I can have. This diet would not be good for a vegetarian . because it mainly consists of two small protein meals a day, Which is 3.5 ounces of a lean meat. I cant wait till my 40 days of this diet is over. And I finally reach my goal weight. Now I'm off to revise doc 1.

Revising and editing

Well I just finished my roughf draft for the MOOCs paper. I did my research and found a lot of information on them.While they have a few kinks in them, I also found some positive things I liked .We know we write to learn,and our opinions may change when were finished writing.Still my decision to take MOOCs stays the same. I have enoughf at my college already going one.Even though my roughf draft is finished I still need to go back and review and revise it a few more times.Even then im sure I will still miss errors.Just like on the flipped classroom paper there were three of us working on that and we still have errors.The proffesor is giving us all a second chance to revise it. I dont know what happen, we went over it right before we sent it in for grading. I saw at the bottom reference page a error when I got home . I coudnt beleive what I was seeing.The word refrence some how turned up on the last page of the body.I thought nooo, this must be a mistake.Josh and Ernest has left the building now,and Im official alone to revise the doc 1.Im just gonna tell you right now,thats not good.I know they will do the work home,they arent the type to slack off and not care.But for now its just me so time to get to work on revising doc 1.

The who am I speech

Its time to write my speech on who am I.The professor gave us this assignment today in class and its due on Tuesday. Writing the paper will not be the hard part.The paper does not even have a impact on the grade.The assignment is all about the delivery of the speech and presentation.How well I do depends on how well i can control my nerves. This will be nearly next to impossible for me I don't know why but when it comes to speeches I tense up and go blank on what Im suppose to say and just start to babble. Tonight I need to work on some ideas for the speech. Im going to free write and see where that gets me. I want to get my outline finished so I can start to work on the speech part. Im getting nervous e just thinking about it .Everyone was telling me it will be fine and relax. They all think it will be easy to do . I know it wont for me because i have given a speech before . It was terrible possibly  because i wasn't prepared at all. Maybe this one will go better .Im not sure exactly what is ,I can talk to others fine. Im pretty out spoken I can make friends easily and communicate well with people with no problems.I think we all can its just a matter if they want or not. Some people don't want to go threw the effort to be friendly.Its easy to be vague and short any one can  do that,but to be nice and smile at people requires more action.Your actions will define your character and how I perceptive you to be.

Credits for MOOCs

What I have found out so far is there is so much they include.Im still undecided on it all. Ok so the main thing for  me is they are not accredible.Which may be ok if your sombody just looking to enhance a skill you already have like in building a search engine or somthing along those lines. Because we know that technology and software is always being updated and changing. Enhancing their knowledge will help that person out by improving their skills and maybe even help get them that new promotion.Or in this day in age just keep their job.As far as somone already in college they have a lot on thier plate already I could use the Mooc as extra help.But at the same time i dont want to be distracted from the classes im actully paying money for.Where im also getting credits to graduate with. In a Mooc u may recieve a certificate.But lets face it is this a certificate world were living in. No its more like a graduate with  a degree world.More and more students  are now going for their masters without thinking twice about the lenght of time requierd.Acoording to the newyork times an artical stated that  Universites hope to give credits for moocs on day in the near future. Where just like in a college you walk in with your previous credits and your compinsated for them .   

Moocs the virtual classroom

What are moocs, or massive online open courses.Its already being called revolutionary and only a few years old. I recently tried an online course on udacity.com . which is from a professor from stanford university created his own online classroom. I advise you check one out they have many different course u might be interested in.I wanted to see what they were all about since wew will be writing an essay on them .Somthing we no nothong about will be difficult to talk about with out having credible knowledge , along with some first hand expeirence should be helpful for us.I signed up for a mooc  it was free and easy to sign up for . I did infact learn a few things already .The instructor went really slow and very easy to follow along with..Iwill look into this more so far i found moocs to be a very complex subject i have yet to decide if im on board with this new virtual classroom.

Incorporate writing to learn

I think writing helps me to understand  a topic better.Without writing things are less organized for me.When we our given a topic to write on we first research our subject well. Then we start taking notes as we go.Based on whatever the topic is were learning. If we don't start writing stuff down it gets left in our head until we forget it start to feel overwhelmed with so much information at once. In developing my writing skills i can be a better communicator to others . In speech class we are asked to write  an essay before our speech .Because we will need some information to go on and we will have forgotten it as soon as we stand in front of the class .were aloud to give the speech to the class based on our outline ,or note cards. We cannot memorize the speech on our own because were not payed actors and even actors read off Que cards. Learning  how to enhance my writing skills will help me out in the world to communicate  what i want to say that much better.]When we write our essays we try and enhance our way of thinking with more of an open mind.We also can develop a broader vocabulary in a formal way for our readers to appreciate as well as understand at the same time. So I need practice ,practice , practice is all i can say.

We are just finishing up our assignment about flipping the class room. We were given more time to finish it , so  by making a few changes we should have a pretty good paper. I learned how flipping the class room contributes to positive learning. It has helped me on to be more involved in my studies at home not just while I'm in the classroom at school.. First just by writing the assignment I see how getting my thoughts down on paper and out of my head helps with organization and learning. When I write it may not always work out the way I want it write away, but I go back and revise and edit until it makes since to me. We use writing all the time not just in school. We write to others in text messages and on social media networks. We also write to learn new things not just to inform others on our message. When we were assigned our paper we all had to write it together .I wasn't sure how well this was goanna work out. I thought this was going  to be more difficult then it really was. First were not even getting together its done separately in our own homes on separate computers .Second how was this paper going to come out. With three different minds and different ideas. We worked it out pretty well we all took different paragraphs and waited for each to write theirs  first .I took the last one so I waited till the others wrote theirs first .While waiting I did my part on researching the flipped class room . I took the main ideas and whole concept  down in notes. It was important to wait on writing yet to  see how I was going to incorporate my ideas to theirs . Also I was afraid of writing the same thing they already write on the research part of it .Josh did use a great statistic that I wanted to use, but were a team and I wanted it in our paper so I'm glad he found it and put it in. I really liked writing together, so we can get different opinions on we goes in the paper and its not just me alone. Our next assignment is written solely on our own this time I hope it goes well. Its on mooks and I have no clue what it is. Just like flipping the class room I will learn about it. I'm going to get started on the research paper now.

Communications

In my public speaking class were talking about communications. were just just starting our first assignment on communications and speaking.So far weve learned about the Johari window.This is the four windows of communication with your self and others.Mr Johari came up with this to identify how we and others persieve us .The first one being what we know about our self .The second one is what others know about us. The third is what others know about us,with out us knowing .The last window is the unknown what we dont even know about our own self. were writing a paper on this and we will soon learn more

3 movies I want to see

#1  Fast and the Furious 6. Why because reason (A) Vin Diesel is in this sequel  and as a serious actor he really speaks to me. Reason (B) please refer to (A)......... Reason (C) Lettys back from where ever she's been hiding now , and out for revenge on Dom and the gang . We all thought she was dead for sure right! SMH. We all knew this was coming from fast and furious 5. At the end scene they showed her picture and said she was alive.
In an interview she did she stated being in the movie theater watching fast five and when the last scene showed is how she found out she would be starring in the next sequel .Although its not playing in theaters anymore ,so I will rent instead it just not the same at home.

 
#2  Argo. This film is based on a true story. Its about how in 1979 CIA posed as a Hollywood production team making film in Iran came to rescue six Americans that were hiding out in Iran. The six Americans tried leaving but  couldn't get out of the Country. Then CIA shows up with a crazy plan for their  escape. Once again this ones not in theaters anymore as well ....cant wait to rent it on dvd.I always did like ben Affleck and his movies except for Gigi. Even when he started dating JLO which were working out ,until  he dumped her .Rumors  was because  she was bad publicity for his career. But look at him now directing his own movie now and winning best picture at the  Oscars .

#3  RIPD. This movie looks like  fun. Ryan Reynolds  always a funny guy. In this film he's was a police officer who died and went to work for the RIPD. Making the world a safer place for humans.
I wont tell you any more about it because I don't want to spoil it ,and I don't know anything else about it anyway. I am going to see it on  Friday with my family cant wait. I haven't been to the movies since my fist semester.

Changing the staus Quo

Flipping the classroom is now changing the staus Quo evry where. If you are in a flipped classroom like I am, then you already know what im talking about. If not ill try to shed  some light on the subject.First you will need to understand why teachers are now taking a new approach in planning lessons .The whole concept  is too add a new element in how a student  learns.By emailing a few videos  to watch for the student to evaluate what their learning in class.which then adds more time for the classroom for fun activities and questions. All this is followed up by a short quiz on what was just watched to ensure the student did indeed watch and learn from them .The flipped classroom does not take away anything but add too the status Quo in learning .

Time to start writing

Im about to get started writing my part of the paper on 'flipping the class room' so I  am home doing some more research on the topic. I hope it comes out good .After I finish that I will do a few more homework assignments that have to rap up for my other classes. There is always some paper or homework to be done . So I think to do well in class its important to always keep busy and stay on top of your assignment. I often try to stay ahead to be prepared for what's coming next. This doesn't always work out ,but I still try.  Since I started blogging I have learned  how to express my thoughts down  in writing just a little bit better now. So I can only wait and see how much better I can develop my writing .I can see more and more that writing is important we use it often to communicate with others .So its crucial for writing clear and leaning the best way to get your message across with less confusion as possible. College class have been helpful so far I enjoy them all .The professors are helpful as well as my peers .I have a long way to go so ill be here at south for a while .Thank god I like it ,because if I didn't that would make it that much harder on me to learn . Im going to eat dinner, then I am going to start my part of the paper for English class

The new semester

Well I finally feel like I  can  breath again for now . Compared  to the last semester ,which  was really hectic to say the least. last semester was so chaotic because I was taking med term. That was a whole lot of memorizing it a short time frame .Everything we learned was really interesting and its a fun class. Just stressful I thought, since its a five week semester its at a fast  pace. I didn't have any social life at all ,which was ok I didn't mind to much .After all I had good reason to stay home studying was  more important  to me , and good grades rather than whatever was going on out there. So what happened to that old social life ? Since then I traded my wine habit for coffee .Which sucks because I was really conquering that  bitter / sweet  taste you get after  wine. I had to try a few before I found a good one that  I liked . Now its more like a lot of  coffee and tea to try to stay awake. I found this semester to be a whole lot easier for me ,although we did just start so I don't wana speak too soon , but so far so good.  Im sure its about to get hetic  again soon   

Based on the research ive done on the internet, a flipped class room is where our proffesor post a few videos . we can watch videos on our subject we are learning.  This  can be done in class or on our own time at home . The flipped class room is a new idea to me . so far what I see its  very beneficial for all students. We can  learn at  our own pace. So instead of lecturing students for an hour on a subject in class , students can use their own resources on their own time .Then when they do come to class and learn they already have some knowledge on that subject.Flipping the class room is also a great idea because it can save time for  students to  ask any questions they may have.To rember the questions we can pause a video then take notes on the subject and bring them to class.

Hi everyone My name is Victoria Stevens ,Im student at south university.Im learning about blogging in English Composition and writing today.I have just created this blog and will be sharing a lot of fun new things that im learning in school.Also in this blog i will be sharing things in my life that take place day to day.I dont kno much about blogging ,but i do know that its been around for a while now ,and alot of people have blogs .And its alot about voicing your opinion and thoughts and ideas.bloggers also have huge groups of followers .Some people even make money by blogging.
